April 26, 2021

Pray for the spiritual breakthrough in our city and province through His Church surrendered to be obedient to His Word on a daily basis. 

We are focused on the passage 2 Timothy 2:2, “The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”  Pray for the developing discipleship of each member of our congregations and the call of God on their life to be on mission.

Pray for the safety and comfort of the community as we are seeing more episodes of racial tension, greater restrictions, increased hospitalization, increased transmissions of variants from around the globe, a growing frustration among individuals with differing perspectives, and emotional struggles for those dealing with loneliness and isolation.  

We are thankful for the continued recovery of Zachary Jean, Brittany Campbell and Lisa Arrington who are healing at home.  Bob Shelton continues to improve in the hospital in Calgary and Debbie Shelton is recovering at home but both still need healing and  time to recover.  Pray for the emotional strain of remaining separate as they deal with  Covid restrictions.  Scott Harris continues his battle with cancer at home, pray for both JiHoon an Scott as they face thee difficult days. 

We are thankful to report the Stice family have arrived an successfully received their status to begin work in Langley as a part of the team at New Song with Christian Rowland.  We are also thankful Matthew and Heather Bond have shipped all of their goods and cross the border with no problem to transition to their new position in Mountain Home, Arkansas.  Please Continue to pray for the nest steps for Ekklesia Community in Sydney, BC.

Praying for the Family Church under the leadership of Pastor Ian Lee as he launches a new work to in Port Moody focused upon reaching 1.5 generation Korean Canadians.  Pray for God to call our a core team to build this church.  The Lee have been joined by two other families as they are currently prayer walking four schools and 4-5 surrounding communities.

Pray for a possible church plant led by Wade Holmes in Carcross, Yukon., Among the First Nations people of the region.  Pray for co-workers to to join them .

Pray for Jae Park (pastor at Comox Valley Korean Baptist Church) as he recovers from a car accident 19 months ago. He continues to have multiple issues stemming from the concussion he received then. Pray also for his wife Sarah who has had a heart attack and has been hospitalized several times and is waiting to see a specialist in Victoria. Pray for God’s healing power to be demonstrated in their lives and that they would experience his sustaining grace in the meantime. Pray also for the church to be faithful to God’s leading during these challenging days.

Praying for one of the elders at Church on the Rock, Chad Reed.  He had surgery on April 6th and is still in the hospital with complications and an infection.  Pray for healing and perseverance as he is very discouraged right now.  The Isolation Covid has brought with no one being allowed to be in the hospital has made it even more challenging for him.  Pray also for his wife Johanna and two sons, Thomas and Miles as they enter their four week of  separation.

Praying for the work on each of post secondary campuses in British Columbia as the schools have been told to prepare to return to on campus in-person learning this fall.  Pray for wisdom to make the transitions and build on the relationships that have been developed  over the past months.  Pray for the families that will be guiding the efforts including Peter & Michaela Yoon,   Craig & Ellen Obrien, Victor & Candace Thomas, Suzanne Perry, and Kelly & Jeanne Manire.

Praying for churches that are looking for pastoral staff: Vancouver Chinese, Salmo Baptist, Mountain View Baptist, Mapes Baptist, Uplands Baptist, Ekklesia, and Westlynn Baptist.
