APRIL 18, 2021

Praying for the impact of 21 Days of Prayer for Canvas Church as they join to worship.  May they see the hand of God active in their midst and be empowered and encouraged for the work they are called to join.

Praying for one of our national leaders and friend, Bob Shelton, who is hospitalized in Calgary fighting the effect of the Covid virus.  His oxygen levels are low.  He is taking a wide array of antibiotics, steroids, oxygen, etc.  Pray that his oxygen levels will rise.  Pray also for Debbie and family as they await the next report.

Praying for those battling long term  medical issues: Scott Harris as he continues his battle with cancer at home and for his wife, JiHoon, as she cares for him: Zachary Jean as he deals with cancer and recovery from surgery earlier this year.  For Lisa Arrington as she recovers from gall bladder surgery this week.  For Brittany Campbell who is hospitalized in Kelowna following a difficult treatment in her ongoing battle with her liver.  We pray for the comfort of the Lord and his healing hand on each.

Praying for Steve Lee and his family as they make final preparations for his daughter’s wedding next week in Boston.  We are praying for the blessing of the Lord and His protection during these trying days.

Praying for Meguru Hakamata as we explore possible opportunities to partner with his Japanese fellowship in Kelowna to assist him in planting a church there.

Praying for the Scott Stice family as they make the journey to join the team at New Song in launching multiple churches from the Langley area.  We continue to pray for the four other planters currently making final preparations to move to Vancouver this year to plant churches from this Hub around the Lower Mainland.

Praying with incredible thankfulness for the online gatherings of  the CNBC WestCoast and the SEND Network in Vancouver.  The encouragement of the Spirit, the fellowship of believers and the challenge to greater partnership in reaching our city was greatly needed as restrictions and infection rise in our region to the highest levels since the Covid virus struck in 2020.  The CNBC WestCoast Gathering saw one leader connect from over 2400km north of Vancouver.

Praying for the support and care of Matthew & Heather Bond as they make final plans to take a new ministry position in Arkansas and leave Vancouver Island at the end of April.  Pray for the families of Ekklesia as they seek the leadership of the Lord for the next steps of ministry as a church.

Pray for the retirement of Rich and Debbie Carruthers with great thankfulness for over 35 years of ministry to students in British Columbia.  We are very thankful for the faithful ministry of prayer and discipleship on the campuses of Vancouver.  Pray for their next chapter of ministry.

Pray for the university and college campuses of British Columbia as they have been told to prepare to return to  in person learning this fall.  Pray for the international students who are isolated or returning to continue their studies.

Pray for the Churches of our province as they seek to minister to their communities despite the closure of in person indoor gatherings,  Pray for the efforts of churches during these season of great weather in our region to take advantage of the opportunity for outdoor gatherings of up to 50 people or 50 cars.  We are seeing drive in church as well as church in the park.  This has opened the door to reach neighbours who may be curious or questioning.

Pray for the efforts of collaboration that have resulted due to the restrictions of the past year as doors and potential have been seen during the reset:  Origin Church and Zoe Church have forged partnerships with community centers and food banks to provide food for those suffering economic and physical limitations.  New Hope and God Rock have united to launch Gospel City Church, we have connected with an Indonesian Community to form a partnership in launching a new congregation reaching multiple ethnicities, our CNBC WetCoast is pursuing a partnership to sponsor refugees to our city, Church on the Rock has provided resources to care for children in the foster care system.  The transforming power of the Gospel is coming to light.

Pray for the prayer teams that are forming.  Pray for the Towers Baptist Church team as they are prayer walking each of the public school communities of their city.  They choose a different school each Sunday evening for one hour asking the Father to open the doors and eyes of the people to the Gospel in their communities.

Praying for churches that are looking for pastoral staff: Vancouver Chinese, Salmo Baptist, Mountain View Baptist, Mapes Baptist, Uplands Baptist, Ekklesia, and Westlynn Baptist.
