The recent pandemic has made a significant impact on our community, our nation, and the world. For some this has been a season of rest, resetting, and recovering. For others this has been a very unsettling, lonely, and fearful time. There is so much that has changed and so much that will change. There is so much we don’t know about the future. But there are a few things we do know. God is always working, always painting on a canvas bigger than we can see. God can take a mess and create a masterpiece. God isn’t finished with us yet! We don’t belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed. We are children of God. We are more than conquerors in Christ. We are the redeemed. We have power in Jesus’ Name. The Holy Spirit resides in us and we are led by the Spirit. And… everything great happens on the backside of prayer. So in the summer of 2020, we want to invite you to remember who you are in Jesus, to reflect on what He has already done in your life, and to join us in prayer walking our community. Lace up your walking shoes, put on the Armour of God, and walk through neighbourhoods, parks, along beaches, up mountain tops, and call on the Name of the Lord! Invite a couple of friends to join you and use the prayers below to help get you started and to guide your times of prayer walking in our great and beautiful city!
Father, I thank you for Jesus! Jesus is the author and finisher of my faith. Jesus is my High Priest. Jesus is my advocate. Jesus is the One who gives fullness to my life. Jesus is my hope and the anchor of my soul. Jesus is the One holding me together. Jesus is my healer. Jesus is my rescuer. Jesus’ Name has saved me, called me, and is anointing me for such a time as this! Jesus, manifest your presence as I pray.
- Father, I ask in the Name of Jesus that You would stir our hearts in affection for Jesus. – Colossians 3:3

- Father, I ask in the Name of Jesus that You would help me to know I can cast the whole of my anxieties and worries to You because You care for me. – 1 Peter 5:7
- Father, I ask in the Name of Jesus that You would increase my faith as I pray for what You are doing in our city and in our country. – Hebrews 11:6
- Father, I ask in the Name of Jesus that You would draw the people in our community into a personal relationship with Your Son Jesus. – John 6:44
- Father, I ask in the Name of Jesus that You would open the eyes of the people in our city to see the Light of the Gospel of Christ! – 2 Corinthians 4:4
- Father, I pray for You to become famous in the hearts of souls of the people in our city. – Habakkuk 3:2
- Father, I ask in the Name of Jesus that You would turn hearts in our city to Your Truth and away from selfish gain. – Psalm 119:36
- Father, I ask in the Name of Jesus that You would revive the people in our city so they may rejoice in You! – Psalm 85:6
- Father, I pray for the righteous reign of Jesus Christ in our city. – Matthew 6:9
- Father, I ask that You would remind the people in our city that You are a gracious and merciful God. – Nehemiah 9:31
- Father, I ask in the Name of Jesus that You would set people in our city free from the bondage of sin! – Isaiah 61:1
- Father, I ask in the Name of Jesus that You would give our church a spirit of brokenness over the lost/darkness in our community. – Psalm 51:16-17
- Father, I ask in the Name of Jesus that You would help the believers in our city to value Your Son Jesus, above all else. – Philippians 3:8
- Father, I ask in the Name of Jesus that You would increase the faith of the believers in our community. – Hebrews 11:6
- Father, I ask in the Name of Jesus that You would help me to be a light in my community. – Matthew 5:13-16
- Father, I ask in the Name of Jesus that You would use our church to help others cultivate intimacy with You. – Romans 12:1-2
- Father, I ask in the Name of Jesus that You would grow a spirit of biblical community in our church. – Acts 2:42-47
- Father, I ask in the Name of Jesus that You would help all of us in our church to share the story of what You have done and what You are doing in our lives. – Luke 10:10
- Father, we thank You for the men and women who teach in our schools and we ask You to bless them as they shape the next generation. – 3 John 4
- Father, I ask in the Name of Jesus that You would use our church to serve our community in such a way that they would experience Your Presence. – Psalm 84:10-11
- Father, I ask in the Name of Jesus that You would continue to develop and call out life-giving, faith-filled, relationship building, community serving leaders from our church. – 2 Timothy 2:2, Matthew 9:35-38
- Father, I ask in the Name of Jesus that You would strengthen, encourage, and provide a spirit of creativity as parents nurture, lead, teach, and care for their children. – Deuteronomy 6:4-13
- Father, I ask in the Name of Jesus that You would help couples to trust You to cultivate communication, to nurture romance, to celebrate differences, to highly value their relationship, and to finish strong. – Ephesians 5:22-33
- Father, I thank You for the doctors, nurses, and all other health care workers in our community. In the Name of Jesus I pray for You to provide them with good with, with encouraged spirits, and wisdom as they serve our community. Father, I thank You for our government leaders. I pray in Jesus’ Name that You give them wisdom and discernment as they govern. – 1 Timothy 2:1-2
- Father, I thank You for the first responders in our community. In Jesus’ Name, I ask You to protect them and to help them know how grateful we are for the work they do. – Psalm 46:1
- Father, I thank you for our teachers. I ask in Jesus’ Name that you bless the teachers in our city. Give them good health. Give them creativity and innovation. Encourage them Lord. – Romans 13
- Father, I pray in Jesus’ Name for compassion and provision for the homeless, those in prison, the hungry, and others dealing with real live physical and emotional needs at this time. – Matthew 25:31-46
